[XO Wave-Announce] XO Wave 0.18.0 (Beta) now available

Hey all,

 	You can now download XO Wave version 0.18.0 (Beta) from 
www.xowave.com. This is the last major release scheduled before 1.0 and 
there are over fifty new features and bugfixes in this release. Almost all 
the new features were suggested by users and they include:

- Support for Audio Units.
- Support for CD Text, including ISRC, MCN/UPC and barcode generation.
- Support for file and session metadata.
- Improved pre-/post- roll support.
- Improved ruler and edit window functionality.
- lots of ther things (full changes listed below)

- made a few editing preferences non-expert.
- fixed bug that did not correctly disable buttons when effects view is collapsed
- added more debugging for mysterious exception (AIOOBE with showeffect helper)
- fixed bug that sometimes showed track auto-muted after deleting a soloed track.
- small fix for problem with missing input or output hardware. Should fix
   problem with mac minis. (Songs for Bugs Fix!)
- added warning when trying to open a protected movie.
- fixed problems when changing track routing to a track with different number of channels.
- improved display of import errors, especially when importing multiple files,
   and also improved the likelihood that copy-protected files are identified and
   the right message is passed to the user.
- fixed bug that caused "Burn Another" dialog to appear twice.
- added support for a variety of text elements associated with session and
   files. File text is imported either from file metadata or iTunes, and
   tracked. CD track markers automatically inherit this info when created
   using the auto-create feature of Memory Locations window, or from
   the create CD mastering session wizard.
- implemented ISRC and UPC code burning, and added experimental support for
   UPC bar-code generation in both UPC-A and EAN-13 formats.
- now exports memory locations to HTML, rather than tab-delimited, which
   improves character-set support.
- implemented support for CD-Text on burners that support it. Also requires OS X
   10.4.
- fixed bug that caused high load during CD Burn.
- revamped preview window to give playback preview and make it prettier
   and better layed out.
- fixed bug in Trim Down, which may have caused end of session not to be
   updated.
- fixed crash displaying browser on Linux when launching browser and
   Netscape, firefox and mozilla are all absent.
- fixed bug that caused NPE under rare conditions when dragging a region onto
   new track area.
- Probably fixed bug that caused Negative automation element error.
- improved selections so that brackets and some other commands work even if
   there is no selection.
- added ability to set playback bounds and selection from new track area.
- put preview in edit window along with effects. double clicking on region
   in bin shows preview.
- fixed bugs associated with copy and pasting automation.
- small volume is even smaller
- fixed bug that created edit to be added to undo list when viewing aux send
- added some right click options to extend selections to start, end and region bounds.
- pre/post roll modes expanded to include options for things like only playing pre-roll
- fade editor incorporated into preview and effects editing area.
- updated some 3rd party packages and also fixed some credits in about box.
- ruler has tick marks!
- toggling spacebar between stop and pause. Can be temporarily reversed with alt.
- added arrows for effect name collapsing/expanding.
- added master volume control to transport area.
- modified implementation of track control panel's channel gui.
- added ability to add and remove effects from track control panel and ability to remove
   effects from channel strip.
- added ability to save hardware settings as new session default.
- added multi-track selections! Many functions seem to work correctly.
- fixed "bad highlight" problem.
- fixed bug that showed pan automation on mono track.
- undo/redo in menu now shows the name of the edit being undone/redone.
- implemented multi-track fades, multiple fade creation and multiple fade editing.
- improved appearance (and accuracy) of fade drawings.
- added intelligent name shortening (at least in English) to track names when display is too small.
- improved change track name dialog.
- fixed bug that sometimes screwed up automation when pausing or using pre-roll.
- added option to import audio along with movie.
- updated sales engine and allowed access to web-store even when XO Wave is already running in "pro" mode.
- update PortAudio on Linux and Mac OS X
- improved thread safety on SMP machines
- improved error and report handling
- fixed problem with text fields in some locales.
